چکیده
Microwave parametric amplifiers operating at the quantum noise limit have become indispensable tools for a range of cryogenic technologies. These are typically constructed from nonlinear Josephson junctions, which ability to amplify high-power signals. This study reports device based instead on weakly kinetic inductance intrinsic superconducting film niobium titanium nitride. The amplifier offers large phase-sensitive gain and high power handling, plus simple design fabrication process. As it contains no is robust electrostatic discharge potentially operable under temperatures magnetic fields.

Phase matched parametric amplification via four-wave mixing in optical microfibers.
Four-wave mixing (FWM) based parametric amplification in optical microfibers (OMFs) is demonstrated over a wavelength range of over 1000 nm by exploiting their tailorable dispersion characteristics to achieve phase matching. Simulations indicate that for any set of wavelengths satisfying the FWM energy conservation condition there are two diameters at which phase matching in the fundamental mod...

Context. Current generation millimeter wavelength detectors suffer from scaling limits imposed by complex cryogenic readout electronics. These instruments typically employ multiplexing ratios well below a hundred. To achieve multiplexing ratios greater than a thousand, it is imperative to investigate technologies that intrinsically incorporate strong multiplexing. One possible solution is the k...

A simple model of a two-mode non-resonant parametric amplifier is studied with special regard to non-classical features such as revivals and squeezing. The methods used apply for an arbitrary pump parameter. Detailed analytical and explicit expressions are given when the coupling of the two modes has an harmonic time-dependence. Despite its simplicity the model exhibits a very broad range of in...
متن کاملDegenerate four-wave mixing in noncentrosymmetric materials
This work treats degenerate four-wave mixing ~DFWM! in noncentrosymmetric materials, taking into full account the fact that the DFWM signal arises from third-order nonlinear optical effects as well as from two distinct combinations of second-order effects: second-harmonic generation plus difference frequency generation and optical rectification plus Pockels effect. Because of these second order...

Fluorescence microscopy has been widely used to explore the nanoscale world because of its superb sensitivity, but it is limited to fluorescent samples. Hence, various spectroscopic contrasts have been explored for imaging nonfluorescent species. Here we report a multiphoton microscopy based on single-beam near-degenerate four wave mixing (ND-FWM), by detecting a coherent signal generated by th...
